Legal Notice & Disclaimer
All services provided by the In-field Instructor (commonly referred to in the angling industry as a Fly Fishing Guide) are strictly educational and focused on sports coaching and technical skill development.
1. Definition of Service & Legal Distinction
The client acknowledges and agrees to the following:
- In-field Instructor / Fly Fishing Guide: This role is defined as technical sports instruction and field coaching. Although the term “Guide” is standard within the global fly fishing community, it is not to be confused with a “Tour Guide” or travel agency representative.
- Scope of Expertise: My services do not include licensed tour guiding (historical or cultural sightseeing) or tour operator services (arranging accommodation or transport). The focus is entirely on situational education: reading the water, understanding entomology, and the practical application of fly fishing techniques.
2. Personal Responsibility & Liability
Fly fishing involves activities in natural environments with inherent risks (slippery riverbeds, fast currents, unpredictable weather).
- Safety: The client participates at their own risk. The instructor shall not be held liable for any physical injuries, falls, or accidents during the session.
- Physical Fitness: The client confirms they are physically capable of wading and navigating uneven terrain.
3. Logistics and Gear
- Client Obligations: The client is solely responsible for obtaining valid fishing licenses, as well as managing their own travel and lodging arrangements.
- Equipment: Each party is responsible for their own gear. The instructor is not liable for any damage to the client’s tackle during instruction.
4. Expertise and Ethics
- Local Expertise: Training is based on extensive knowledge of specific fly fishing locations. However, the instructor does not guarantee a specific catch, as it depends on environmental variables.
- Conservation: All sessions are conducted according to local regulations and a strict “Catch & Release” ethic.
