I began my fly fishing journey in 1986, long before modern techniques gained popularity in this part of Europe. In an era when most anglers relied on traditional methods, I was already pioneering the sport—experimenting with various fly patterns, presentation styles, and specialized tackle. My curiosity led me to explore the versatility of fly fishing, targeting not only trout but a wide range of freshwater species, which allowed me to develop a deep, comprehensive understanding of fish behavior and aquatic environments.
Over the decades, I have been deeply involved in the evolution of fly fishing across the Balkans, contributing as an educator, organizer, author, and instructor. In 2013, I earned my FFF (Fly Fishers International) Casting Instructor certification. This milestone marked the transition into a more structured, international phase of my career, focused on providing high-level technical instruction to anglers from all over the world.

Today, I primarily work with experienced fly anglers from Western Europe and beyond, acting as an in-field consultant on technically demanding rivers. These waters require more than simple repetition; they demand precision, expert water reading, and the ability to adapt tactics in real-time. My instructional philosophy is simple: I teach you how to catch fish by deeply understanding the river’s dynamics, rather than just following fixed recipes.

Beyond the water, my expertise extends to the vise. I am an accomplished fly tyer and the author of several popular patterns that have proven successful across the region. Since 2014, I have developed multiple fly-tying applications for Android devices, bridging traditional craft with modern technology. My deep understanding of fly design has also led me to serve as the President of the Jury for numerous fly tying competitions across the Balkans since 1998, where I evaluate technical precision and creativity at the highest level

My technical approach is rooted in a deep study of the river ecosystem. As an amateur entomologist, I have authored numerous articles on aquatic insects and curated extensive photo galleries documenting their life cycles. This scientific perspective allows me to teach my students not just which fly to use, but to understand the biological ‘why’ behind every hatch, making them more observant and successful anglers on any water.
Over the decades, I have been deeply involved in the evolution of fly fishing across the Balkans, contributing as an educator, organizer, and author. In 2001, I published my book ‘Fly Fishing Basics,’ which served as a foundational guide for many anglers in the region.

Since 1994, I have been a cornerstone of the regional fly fishing community as the founder and President of one of its most active clubs. My leadership extends to the organization of numerous high-level events, including regional fly tying, fly fishing, and fly casting competitions, where I have focused on elevating the technical standards of the sport.
